I still have no idea what I just read, but that's what I like about this series. Just recently I've been venturing away from Marvel and DC and found Image. First reading Fatale, this was a good second choice. It has that same element where you're always guessing what's going to happen next and the use of the flashbacks is great too. Plus I really like how the main characters are set up. There all different and you start liking the ones you didn't care for in the beginning.I've never seen Lost before, so I can say if this is similar to that or not. Reading this edition though I can see similarities with American Horror Story though. Again with the guessing part and the flash backs. But this isn't a horror comic. It's basically a mystery comic. If you want crazy and one insane comic then this might be a good buy. I has that TV show feel were you pick one issue up and then you want to read the rest of it just to get the full story.
The only reason I gave this a four instead of a full five is because the inside at I'm not to crazy for some times and the censoring. I seen other review about how the guy draws his faces and have to agree they are sometimes off. He does a great job making it feel like a TV show with the crazy camera angles and the backdrops are great too, just his faces seem off to me. Also some words reason censored when they can say other words. Maybe their is some editor thing with Image, but if a comic book has the rating M then they shouldn't need to censor stuff.
I feel like I need to rate this comic book when it ends fully because it set up for you not get anything until the end. Because of that, I'm now hooked. Good thing the second deluxe just came out because I must know what happens. It all for a better future right?

Morning Glories Vol 1 For a Better Future Nick Spencer Joe Eisma Books Reviews
I absolutely love this comic. The storyline, the twists, the characters, the mysteries. All are so amazing. I just bought volume 2 and I can't wait to start reading it. I promise, once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down.
Violent content, but not overtly violent. Light language.
Like the TV show that is referenced in its pages, Lost, Morning Glories forces the readers to keep asking questions. The story gives you just enough answers to keep you plowing through the story. I am very disappointed to see almost all of Image's work pulled from the kindle store so that I am unable to continue the story instantly. (Also leaves me missing other series as we'll like Saga, Chew and The Walking Dead)
The talent in this book is just amazing, they run the risk of being recruited and enrolled at the academy. Morning Glories has become my new favorite read. Its a great combination of thriller, mystery and horror. Take the tv shoes Lost, and Fringe, add the hit comic Locke and Key (Gabriel Rodriguez and Joe Hill), and you've got Morning Glories. I found this treasure while searching for a new story to follow. If you're lucky enough to have found this book please spread the word. Any way you can. We need more Comicbooks like this.
A friend of mine said (while looking at the cover of this volume) that this series looked like it would be "cutesy." It is far from cutesy. This series is kind of a dark thriller and is full of shocking moments and interesting twists. The story is kind of complex because there are a lot of characters that each have different things going on, but it's not hard to follow. Everything about this series is super interesting and despite it's appearance, it's not just some cutesy school comic for kids/teens. I can't wait to read more. There is always something interesting going on at all times.
I really didn't expect big things about Morning Glories TPB Vol. 1, but oh boy was I wrong. It looked like a (no offense) really crappy schoolgirl adventure story like last year's Vampire Academy. The premise is about these six individuals [on the cover] who are excepted into a very prestigious school named Morning Glories Academy. It turns out this school has some pretty dark secrets waiting to unfold. These six individuals (Casey, Hisao, Hunter, Ike, Jade, and Zoe) are very diverse interesting characters that I really feel for. The writing is exceptional with the dazzling art added. I have many unquestioned answers about this comic. Many people hate that, but I love it. I can't wait to read volumes 2,3, and 4 that I ordered. I highly recommend this book to anyone that lives comics. Do keep in mind this comic is rated M for mature so don't be surprised by major violence and bad language. This book is amazing and I hope you buy it! Enjoy it!
The series is essentially a comic book version of the TV series Lost and the 60s tv series The Prisoner, but set in a prestigious boarding school that our teenage heroes and heroines have been tricked into applying to but then discover they cannot escape from. It slowly dawns on them that the teachers are actually sadistic jailors and they are cut off from the outside world and there's no getting out. It's a mix of psychological drama, science fiction, mystery and supernatural story elements plus teen movie style characters. And. It. Is. Brilliant! This is so good it needs to be optioned for a TVs series or movie. Seriously. I've read the series up to vol 9 and I give every one 5 stars. Eagerly awaiting vol 10...
I remember thinking " MAN this is great " when I first started reading it... but , unfortunately much like the Lost TV series it seems to draw inspiration from it goes on.. and on.. and on.. without anything really significant being revealed... yes I understand the value of a "tease" and not showing it all right away (talking about books I swear P ) .. but if the tease goes on and on and there isn't enough revealed to make the wait worth it you get bored after a while.. I'd still recommend volume one even then (this particular collection) because in the begining at least it's a very fun read.. I don't give out "5 " stars unless it's what other comic readers would describe as "legendary" (Sandman by Gaiman, Preacher or Hellblazer by Garth and Ennis, Swamp Thing, original Watchmen and Killing Joke by.. I think all of them were by alan moore?)... so a "4" star rating indicates i am impressed with it )
