What one would expect in terms of legalistic leanings of an early 20th century Baptist minister ("Why Take The Pledge?"). Nonetheless, helpful in it's conviction to help seekers obtain the benefits of a classical, scripture rooted approach to following the way of Christ.
Inspiring and solid teaching from classic Christian writer/Shepherd. Answers the question regarding how to hear from God.
Grateful to have this book, so overlooking all the type-os. Really a lot of them, more than any book I've ever read. But grateful someone reprinted it. It is educating me. I will re-read this one.
This is an encouraging book that talks about the Holy Spirit as a person and how to have a deeper walk with the Lord. It's short to the point ,and easy to understand. I was encouraged,some of these older theologians can help young believers that want to grow in grace understand better what it means to walk with God.
Thoughtful book. Updated grammar used is helpful since it was written in the late 1800's. I think Dallas Willard's book "Hearing God" was better for practical advice on hearing guidance.
But both books add valuable insight.
I am interested in gaining insights from people who have demonstrated in practical ways how their relationship with God has transformed their life. Knowing that God loves us and wants to be involved in our lives can be a powerful motivation to discover ways to be sure you recognize God's presence and are effectively following His guidance. This book had a great deal of helpful and spiritually challenging insights that will assist my daily life. I would recommend it to anyone serious about the pursuit of biblical information that has the potential to change their lives in positive ways.
F.B. Meyer, along with Spurgeon, is one of the great preachers of his day, and there aren't any of them anymore. You can read both of them, and marvel at the insight that they have into the meaning of the scriptures, and the ability they have to mine the treasures within. has enough material from both of them to provide years of reading and growth for anyone who desires a closer walk and companionship with Jesus.
